P6 Grow Your Own Picnic
Today P6 pupils headed back to Finnegan’s Nursery in Silverbridge to attend their second session of four where they are growing their own fruit and veg, celebrating their success by having a spectacular picnic at the end of June, literally eating the fruits of their labour.
Today pupils planted lettuce, sunflowers and blueberries as well as inspecting their raised beds of strawberries, potatoes, herbs and veg that they planted out during their first visit. Pupils then created a giant sensory bed focused on igniting all of the senses.
P6 pupils explored the extended gardens and listened to many amazing facts about how important growing plants were. Another very special morning. Well done to all P6 pupils who represented St Oliver Plunkett’s so well. Thank you to everyone at Finnegan’s for making such an effort for our pupils.
