P5/6 Leading the Way in ICT.

P5/6 pupils have spent the last two days creating their own films based on their topic work in term one (Rainforests). Using a green screen and I pads, pupils have created a wonderful range of films that cover key areas of learning from location, tribes, plants, animals, deforestation and tourism. Pupils used a wide range of digital editing tools and Apps to piece together these films and express their learning, new knowledge and experiences in a very modern, exciting and enriched way.

Progressing on from their filming, pupils used a new App called Aurasma. Infact our pupils are the first primary school across Northern Ireland to experiment with this App. Using our classroom display on Rainforests, the pupils transformed the display into an augmented reality experience. Augmented reality is where you view the real world through the camera. The device scans for images it recognises in the real world. When it recognises this, it will make a digital video or animation magically appear, or augment itself onto the screen. In an instant we can transport you to another place. We can make our displays come to life and interact with you. It takes our learning to a whole different level, perhaps a whole different dimension!!

Well done to all our P5/6 pupils for putting in such a big effort. Take a look at their films and how they put in all together.
