NSPCC's "Speak Out, Stay Safe" Assembly
The NSPCC's ‘Speak Out, Stay Safe’ programme, which teaches children about safeguarding in a meaningful way, was delivered to pupils from Primary 5-7 today.
The pupils met ‘Buddy,' a friendly green speech bubble, who believes children should be able to speak out to someone if they are worried or unhappy. Mr Woods talked through what might make children feel sad, anxious or unsafe. The children talked about the trusted adults that they can talk to if they are worried, both in and out of school. They also found out about Childline and how they can get in contact with them if they need someone to talk to. The P5-7 pupils also participated in classroom-based activities where they took part in engaging exercises looking at different scenarios and making informed decisions about what to do if they need help. Well done everyone!
