Extreme Reading Challenge
An important target within our school this year is reading, particularly developing a love of reading. Over the next fortnight all pupils are being encouraged to buy into the Extreme Reading Challenge. We are asking pupils to complete a reading log where they have taken time each night to relax, enjoy and delve into a great read with parents, grandparents, siblings or a family member. There will be no written homework over the next fortnight so busy households have a chance to invest quality time into reading. We have challenged pupils to take a photo of the craziest place they have read over the fortnight. These will be displayed in school and in a special assembly where certificates and prizes will be presented.
Earlier in the term all pupils took part in a Poetry Week Challenge. The feedback from pupils was very positive and links to the focus on reading throughout the school. We anticipate this fortnight challenge to be equally as rewarding, if not better. Good luck to all the boys and girls over the next two weeks and thank you to all the parents for their support.
