Back to School
Dear Parent, 24-08-20
We are delighted to be able to start welcoming our pupils back to school. We hope to keep things as normal as possible in school, however due to DE regulations, certain procedures must be adhered to moving forward. All these are being put in place in order to protect the health and wellbeing of both staff and pupils. Can I ask that you read and comply with the following points once your child returns to school:
- Construction work has started on the new Playgroup building beside the school. This will involve a certain amount of extra traffic around the school. Please be aware of this when dropping off and picking up.
- No cars are allowed to enter school grounds either in the morning or afternoon. Pupils must be dropped off in church car park and they should walk through side gate.
- If you need to speak with a member of staff, please contact the school by telephone as no parents are permitted on the school grounds in order to minimise risk.
- Please ensure that all pupils are collected promptly at 2pm and 2.45pm.
- Due to Covid 19, no dinner money will be accepted unless it is in a sealed envelope with pupil’s name, amount and days clearly marked. Packs of 40 envelopes can be purchased in the school office for £3. If possible, can parents put the correct amount of money in the envelopes.
- Initially we are asking parents to send in snacks and lunches in disposable bags that can be discarded after use. Pupils can take in a water bottle on a Monday which will remain on their desk for the week. Pupil’s name must be clearly marked on it. Pupils can refill it each morning and then bring it home on Fridays.
- All pupils should wear their PE gear in to school on Tuesdays and Thursdays unless instructed by their teacher to do otherwise. We are in the process of arranging with the manufacturer for new orders for PE gear to be taken.
- Basic stationary will be supplied by class teachers. However, we ask that each pupil brings in to school a packet of colouring pencils (preferably TWISTABLES) and a box of tissues.
- All pupils will receive a Data Collection Sheet and Parental Permission Slip on their Induction mornings. Can I ask the be returned on their first day back on 1st September.
- Due to the school closing very promptly in March, there is still a considerable amount of After School and Dinner monies outstanding. Can I ask that you contact Emma in the office and arrange for these to be paid.
- Pupils that are owed money for different activities from before lock down, this will be refunded next week.
Thank you for your cooperation on these matters.
Regards
Kevin Woods
